Moore Brothers Company and Ocean State Composites join forces to get the job done
In just six years, MBC has grown from a small operation working out of a garage to a full-fledged production line on Franklin Street. Recently, Moore Brothers Company started work on the large-scale REGENT project, which will deliver multiple sea-going, all-electric, passenger-carrying, wing-in-ground-effect vehicles to service coastal routes around the world. To get here, though, Moore Brothers Company needed to join forces with another skillful and experienced company. That company is Ocean State Composites.
U.S. Senator Jack Reed Visits Moore Brothers Company
U.S. Senator Jack Reed visited Moore Brothers Company in July for a tour of our facilities. Oliver Moore spoke to Senator Reed about the current projects, including the large-scale REGENT project.
REGENT is developing a line of seagliders that operate exclusively over water, traversing the sea in one of three modes: hull, hydrofoil, or flight in ground effect. Moore Brothers Company built the REGENT prototype, which underwent successful sea trials last year. MBC is currently building the first full-scale craft for REGENT.
Moore Brothers Company aims to do more aerospace prototyping
Not everyone can immediately see the similarities between the aerospace industry and the world of sailboat racing, but there are more than one might think.
“The marine industry and the America’s Cup do some interesting things and they are able to execute composites at a very rapid pace.” Says Oliver Moore, co-owner and co-founder of Moore Brothers Company. Which, according to the Moore Brother’s experience, is something that the aerospace industry is also interested in doing.

Who wants to work with us?
To define what Moore Brothers Company is all about is not always easy –whether it be the type of company it is or its company culture. However, that might be what makes it so special. Moore Brothers Company is about innovating, evolving and problem solving, which can make it a hard company to put neatly in a box.
Craftsmanship, bespoke, custom, creative, problem-solvers, young, hardworking, industrious are some of the words that come to Oliver and Sam’s mind when trying to define their company.
Another word that comes to mind is “employees.” They need more.
Such big foils, so little time.
Meeting deadlines is important in any business, but it seems particularly so when it comes to creating composite parts. Especially when the parts are needed in order for a 70-foot trimaran to compete in the Nassau Cup Ocean Race in less than three months.
